How are you connected to run 4 monitors now? I repeated this one more time to be sure and got the same result. If the problem still occurs, continue to the next step and update the BIOS. I'd also move some data off now or delete it to free up space. If the computer hangs while shutting down in Safe Mode, it could be a hardware issue. I don't know it that's connected though, since everything else seems to be working fine. If a software program was installed the same day the lock-ups started to occur, that program might be contributing to the lock-up. You didn't mention what OS the computer came with, only that you installed Windows 7 on a new hard disk.
