Desktop Alerts Outlook 2007 Not Working
I personally rely on the tray alert since I do not keep the window open and also sometimes miss the audio alert. Outlook itself is still configured to “Display a Desktop Alert” but it doesn’t show. The audio alert may be approximated with a script, but I have found no way to display that handy tray icon. Note: To suppress other notifications such as playing sounds, changing the mouse pointer, or displaying an envelope icon in the taskbar, clear the respective check boxes for those functions. get redirected here
If you're comfortable with editing the registry, you can navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\DesktopAlerts and set the "XOffset" and "YOffset" values to zero (or near-zero). I had created a rule to move all incoming messages to a subfolder as kind of a hack to get rid of the notification popup. I sent test email and nothing except the sound that new item was received.
